Target Practice

I just received an extensive comment on the last post. I thought that the author deserved to have this much work promoted to the front page. I could respond, but I’ll leave the fun to you, the readers. Enjoy.

Psalm 14:1-3 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none that does good. The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any that act wisely, that seek after God. They have all gone astray, they are all alike corrupt; there is none that does good, no, not one.

God said this about the atheist.

“The fool has said in his heart, there is no God”

Not a fool, but “the” fool. Webster’s dictionary describes a fool as “a very stupid person, one lacking judgement, common sense, wisdom, a silly person, a simpleton, an idiot, an imbecile, someone that is kept to entertain as a jester, a joke, a victim of a joke, one who is duped, a clown, a trick.” And in Jeremiah 17.9… the prophet said the “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperatley wicked, who can know it?”

Only God knows our deceitful and desperately wicked hearts.

Who wants to be a fool?
God looks to see if any of us are wise
If someone is really wise, they will seek God
How do you seek God?
Is it a long journey?
Is there some secret mystery?
Is there some great deed we must do?
Is there some valiant & heroic struggle?
Since God is already at the door, and already knocking, perhaps we should open the door?
The Bible is God’s word, it is how God speaks to us,

Perhaps we should read it and study it and think about it
Since prayer begins with God’s invitation, shouldn’t our prayers begin by listening to God?
They are all alike
There is no one that does good
All have gone astray
Sin is universal
Sin is not just inevitable, it is a great pervasive evil,
And it eats up all in its reach (you are your brothers keeper)
In the face of universal sin, the only thing to do is repent
And trust in the mercy of God
The good news is that God has mercy on penitent sinners
The good news is that there is a Savior
Jesus is our refuge, not because we deserve refuge
Jesus is our refuge because God has mercy upon us
God give his Word
God creates faith
God knocks at our door
God forgives – wisdom is opening our lives to the mercy of God
And righteousness – that too comes from God through Christ.
You see the Lord will restore the fortunes of his people,
His people are the people who live by grace through faith.

Atheists are all afraid from the truth.
First you claim there is no God and heaven, If you and the Atheists believe there is no “God” than why you hate him so much? If you and the Atheists don’t believe in heaven than why you and the Atheists think heaven is a boring place to go to. LOL. You all are hypocrite.
You know there is a God, but you want to live for the devil, Remember the devil know the bible as well as you and me.

In Psalm 14.1…..God said this about the atheist.

The atheist and his atheism.
keywords: atheism, God, atheist, Jesus, agnostic, Christianity, religion, philosophy

Atheism is defined by Webster’s New World Dictionary as, “1. the belief that there is no God, or denial that God or gods exist. 2. godlessness”. An atheist, therefore, is a person who believes that there is no God. But what does the Bible say?
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.
PSALMS XIV:I
Atheism is a belief system that ardently denies the existence of God. God calls the atheist a FOOL. Many atheists spend much time and effort attempting to “disprove” that God exists. According to Romans chapter 1 they know that He exists, but they want to control their own lives and not submit to the Lord. They are actually rather tragic figures just like any other unsaved individual. It is hard to live out their atheism–if they did, they’d actually be considered crazy like O’Hair was.
The atheist’s RELIGION (which is simply a system of beliefs based on a philosophy) of atheism is simply a way to try to block out and override the truth–the ol’ ostrich-head-in-the-sand technique:
If you try to tell ‘em the truth, they say “Shut up!”
stick their heads in the ground and shout–
“There’s nobody there,
there’s nobody there,
there’s nobody there, I tell you!
See, I can’t see ‘em!”
Well, atheist reader, Somebody is there and His truth has stood from the beginning of time and will continue for all eternity. God is not dependent on you in any way. Blasphemies, wars, famines, and political appointments come and go, but when the dust settles, there’s Jesus. And there is nothing you can do about it but breathe out hot air. You will humble yourself before the Lord Jesus or you will be ground to powder.
And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
–Jesus Christ
Matthew 21:44
Most atheists have what I call the Don Quixote Syndrome. Let me explain. Cervantes wrote a book about Don Quixote a long time ago. Don Quixote would attack windmills as if they were his enemies. Of course a windmill is nobody’s enemy. If what the atheist believes is REALLY his belief, then he would leave people like me alone. After all, if God did not exist, He and His followers would be no enemy to the atheist. We’d just be deluded people. Therefore IF the atheist REALLY believes there is no God and the fool attacks a Christian, then he has the Don Quixote Syndrome because the Christian is not his enemy. Nevertheless, God is real and THAT is why atheists have all these organizations and debates to “prove” that God does not exist. Atheist reader, if you would just be true to what you purport to believe, then you wouldn’t have the Don Quixote Syndrome.
My old pastor once ministered to an old atheist who had been a card-carrying atheist for decades–but as he laid on his death bed, he wanted a pastor. I don’t know if he got saved or not. When it’s time to die, many atheists are understandably uneasy and those that aren’t should be terrified.
There is hope for the atheist. He can be saved. In fact, there are plenty of atheists that have come to Jesus Christ. I refuse to argue with them, but will answer honest questions. Unfortunately, many atheists ignorantly say hard things against the Lord Jesus Christ and His people. Don’t let fancy titles and big words shake your faith in the One who holds your eternal destiny.
Think about this: What does the atheist have to offer you? Eternal life? Spiritual comfort? Love? Kindness? Comfort in the midnight hour when no one is around? No, none of these. He has nothing to offer you but blasphemy, hell fire and the wrath of God. The atheist will tell you fabulous fairy tales like
you were spontaneously generated from a rock,
a monkey is your daddy,
a fish is your cousin,
you have no hope,
you should just live for today,
when you’re dead, you’re dead.
If you follow their ignorant advice and die without Christ, you WILL forever regret it and you will remember that someone told you the truth and you scoffed.
Atheists try their hardest to argue a fact that is firmly established–God is real. You cannot look on His creation and its ways and honestly deny it. I won’t argue that 2+2=4 and I won’t argue that God exists. An atheist once wrote and said, “2+2 is not necessarily 4?. Well, write any other number on your math test and see if you get it right.
The bottom line is that atheism is a false belief system composed of fools–it’s not new–the Bible told us about atheism thousands of years ago. Is there a real atheist? No. The closest thing to it is someone who has told themselves a lie so many times that they begin to believe it’s true.
I think that atheists say there is no God so they won’t have to repent; I think it is a cop-out. This is my view that men seek an out from reality. Some take drugs, drink, there are many ways to “escape” reality. But reality says we need a Saviour. Oh how we need a Savior.

No atheist has any proof that there is no God. He says……. but in reality he has no proof.

Arriving Late

Eddie, an outspoken atheist, spent his entire life of 50 years denying the existence of God. Then he contracted a debilitating disease, and his health slowly deteriorated. As he lay in a hospice house awaiting death, Eddie was visited almost every day by some Christian friends he had known in high school. They told him again of Christ’s love. But the closer Eddie came to dying, the more it appeared he was not interested in God.
One Sunday, a pastor stopped by to visit. To everyone’s surprise, Eddie prayed with him and asked Jesus for forgiveness and salvation. A few weeks later, he died.
Eddie denied Christ for 50 years and spent just 2 weeks loving and trusting Him. But because of his faith, he will experience forever God’s presence, glory, love, majesty, and perfection. Some may argue that this isn’t fair. But according to Jesus’ parable in Matthew 20, it’s not about fairness. It’s about God’s goodness and grace (vv.11-15).
Have you waited such a long time to trust Jesus for salvation that you think it might be too late? Consider the thief on the cross, who put his faith in Jesus just before he died (Luke 23:39-43). Trust Jesus now, and receive His gift of eternal life. It’s not too late!

If God is calling you today,
Then trust in Christ without delay;
Tomorrow it will be too late
If death occurs and seals your fate. —

It is a dangerous presumption to say, “Tomorrow,” when God says, “Today!”

An Atheist’s Point Of View
Three young men who say they are atheists decided to “sample” and report on several churches in their city. One of these men said, “There is something other than teaching that is appealing to people. We didn’t see a lot of doctrine. . . . The appeal was mostly the community. The content in most churches isn’t nearly as important as the packaging.” The three atheists offered this explanation for why thousands of people in their area attend church each Sunday: The attraction stems more from a person’s Christian identity than from what the religion teaches.
Their experience agrees with the observation of author A. W. Tozer, who said, “Increasing numbers of [Christians] are becoming ashamed to be found unequivocally on the side of truth. They say they believe, but their beliefs have been so diluted as to be impossible of clear definition.”
The apostle Paul knew whom he believed, and he instructed Timothy to “hold fast” to the truth he had been taught (2 Timothy 1:12-13). We too need to hold tightly to our beliefs based on the unfailing, God-inspired Bible. What we believe about God is more crucial than any feeling we get by being in church. Tozer calls us to stand “firm on the Word of God that lives and abides forever.”
Since by faith I have clear vision,
Your blest Word is rich and new;
Men with eyes by sin distorted
Cannot all its treasures view.
Don’t be a Christian in name only.

Profitable Reading
READ: 2 Timothy 3:10-17
You have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. —2 Timothy 3:15

Bible scholar William Barclay recalls the experience of a group of British soldiers during World War I. For a long time the men were in a relatively quiet standoff with the enemy. Among them was an atheist who, trying to fill up the empty days, went to the chaplain to ask if any books were available. The only book the chaplain had was the Bible.
The atheist refused the Bible at first, but then he took it and began to read the Old Testament at random. He came across the story of Esther and was so engrossed by it that he decided to read the whole Bible. As he did, he realized that what he was reading was true, and he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
The apostle Paul stated in 2 Timothy 3:16 that “all Scripture . . . is profitable.” It gives people the wisdom that leads to “salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (v.15). Even passages that may seem boring and lacking in spiritual value have the power to transform people’s lives.
If in our own reading we come across passages that we find uninspiring at first, let’s trust the Holy Spirit to speak to our hearts and change our lives. Remember, when it comes to the Bible, all of it—from Genesis to Revelation—is inspired and profitable (v.16).
The Bible has power to arrest and convict,
To reveal God’s truth to our soul;
For in it we find the good news of the One
Who alone can cleanse and make whole. —Fitzhugh
Many books can inform you; only the Bible can transform you

That is quite a lot to read, and honestly, the author was starting to hurt my brain (he’s not the best writer out there). However, I skimmed and have one question for Mr. Prolific:

Do you celebrate Christmas? And if so, do you have a Christmas tree as part of the celebration? I always have to ask this of anyone who quotes readily from Jeremiah.

First you claim there is no God and heaven, If you and the Atheists believe there is no “God” than why you hate him so much?

I don’t hate god… how can I hate something I don’t believe in? However, I hate what belief in god does to people. I hate what it did to me… and there are some people who believe in god that I hate.

    That about covers it.

  2. Tommykey Says:

The atheist WWI soldier reading the Bible and becoming convinced of its divine origin sounds like B.S. to me. But even if it isn’t, there were plenty of religious people such as myself who read the Bible extensively and came to the inescapable conclusion that it’s all a load of crap.

  3. Christopher Says:

Wait! Are you serious? The Bible is true?!?!

Whew — I’m so glad someone finally told me. All these years I’ve been relying on rational analysis and empirical evidence to understand my experiences. But lucky for me, I don’t have to do that anymore. I can just take your word for it. I mean, it’s not as if anyone has ever believed anything that turned out not to be true, so if you believe then it must be true — right? Praise Jeebus!

  4. I Am Says:

This rant isn’t useful to me any longer, anyway. Let’s say I accept everything this guy has written as the gospel truth (pun intended). I’m still going to hell. I’ve blasphemed the holy spirit, so I’m screwed. If every word in the Bible is true, there’s just no coming back from that one. See Matthew 12:31 if you don’t know what I’m talking about. If you’re sitting on the fence on the whole god thing, I highly recommend blaspheming the holy spirit. It gives you the comfort of an irreversible position.

  5. I Am His Says:

Oh, yeah. I denied the HS, too. I’m screwed, no matter what. Here I come.

  6. cadmus Says:

I have to say that I think you are a victim of a drive-by comment. I get these from time to time and it’s the same kind of gobbledygook that makes it difficult to even finish. OY! and what’s with the formatting?

Since nobody’s mentioned it I’ll take up the links “Mark” provided. They’re both satire videos. But I have to say that they are fairly well written and that anybody viewing them that already believes those statements will believe that the videos are aimed at atheists. Anybody that visits the MySpace link will learn about the author of the videos, Edward Current and the story behind the videos.

I think that either Edward Current is doing some advertising or “Mark” is a real person who was dumb enough to believe and agree with the videos to use them to back up his statements. Although, after further thought I’m not sure why Edward would use so much spam if he was advertising.

  7. cadmus Says:

Actually, even Edward Current is a pseudonym. The guys real name is Karl Coryat. After reading some more about him it just makes me sad for “Mark”.

What is it about evangelical xtians who thing the louder you yell and the longer you talk or write the more your audience will begin to believe your holy bullshit? Wow. Mark, go shove a crucifix up yer ass. It’s christians like you that make even christians hate christians.

I love the way this guy makes up the atheist’s side, and the argues against his own straw man. Assuming facts not in evidence is another of his favorite tricks. I imagine he feels he has never lost an argument, and no wonder - he never argues against an intelligent opponent.

  13. G. Says:

Though I have no belief in any god nor do I think that such a belief is at all sensible (which would not qualify me as an atheist, but something more for there is always though hidden though in the atheist’s head that there is a God, only one in which he does not believe) and did not so much as bother to read this poorly wrought diatribe thoroughly, I still would like to leave some comments, since the basic position of the argument is given immediately. What I find inconceivable is the defense put forward by this individual—he blindly supposes that sourcing one’s base from a square-peg-in-round-hole text by which in fact a multitude of positions can be taken (and this is most obvious for the bible is a “book of books” in the non-superlative sense, whereby many denominations have been formulated to accommodate more specific religious needs, and so on with the monotheistic background of these texts) in order to validate as well as to annul the variegated positions with respect to the text. This buried supposition of course means that these statements are indefensible. What is more, it is no difficult task for a mountain of arguments to be created when taking a broader perspective of things into account: the very history of the Judeo-Christian tradition is enough to leave a puzzled look as to these values’ value, do you see? So, in all, I would be one to suggest that any attempt at argumentation in a clearly fashioned manner based on the text alone is not enough; the standards are far higher than this. This is exactly why the methodology and epistemology granted by the sciences (under the behests of philosophical developments) has produced a great deal of tension, especially within America where so much ignorance and misunderstanding of science continues to prevail (for which one can thank horrendous public schools).

I would also propose that any Christian in need of formulating an attack against non-believers is more probably not himself a very good Christian—then again, these fundamentalists, and other sorts, have always thought it a good idea to convert others in whatever way possible so as to give some deal of comfort to themselves: to preserve the ‘norm of norms’ and live in complacent mediocrity. It is all such a sad tale indeed.

I am an atheist. I do not have hidden thoughts about god existing. If I did, why would I be an atheist? If I thought there was a god, I’d believe in it. Why risk damnation?

Are you confusing agnosticism with atheism, perhaps? Many so-called agnostics will claim they aren’t atheists because they “aren’t sure” but they “don’t think there’s a god.”

I knew this might raise some comments (erratum: “though hidden though” should read “the hidden thought”). What I meant by the portion you quote is that I am more of an ignosticistic atheist, that is, my atheism is based not merely on disbelief but on the objection to baseless suppositions put forward by those who would dare lay claim to the existence of such a nonentity, where historical analysis—intermingled with theoretical and experiential skepticism—can be brought to bear on such a groundless question and not only with the use of scientific methodology. So, in answer, I have no puerile confusion of agnosticism with atheism in mind. One could say it is my own formulation of a stronger atheism (for there are variations on this old theme, some weaker, others less so: it is a contrast often forgotten). I hope you understand now what I meant by that rather vague account in this rather brief adumbration. All this, however, would raise the possibility that I may still retain religious sentiments, but that is a different matter in part, which I care not to address here.

  22. God is Good Says:

Question: “Does God exist? Is there evidence for the existence of God?”

Answer: Does God exist? I find it interesting that so much attention is given to this debate. The latest surveys tell us that over 90% of people in the world today believe in the existence of God or some higher power. Yet, somehow the responsibility is placed on those who believe God does exist to somehow prove that He really does exist. To me, I think it should be the other way around.

However, the existence of God cannot be proven or disproved. The Bible even says that we must accept by faith the fact that God exists, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). If God so desired, He could simply appear and prove to the whole world that He exists. But if He did that, there would be no need for faith. “Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed’” (John 20:29).

That does not mean, however, that there is not evidence of God’s existence. The Bible declares, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world” (Psalm 19:1-4). Looking at the stars, understanding the vastness of the universe, observing the wonders of nature, seeing the beauty of a sunset – all of these things point to a Creator God. If these were not enough, there is also evidence of God in our own hearts. Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us, “…He has also set eternity in the hearts of men…” There is something deep down in our beings that recognizes that there is something beyond this life and someone beyond this world. We can deny this knowledge intellectually, but God’s presence in us and through us is still there. Despite all of this, the Bible warns us that some will still deny God’s existence, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” (Psalm 14:1). Since over 98% of people throughout history, in all cultures, in all civilizations, on all continents believe in the existence of some kind of God – there must be something (or someone) causing this belief.

In addition to the Biblical arguments for God’s existence, there are logical arguments. First, there is the ontological argument. The most popular form of the ontological argument basically uses the concept of God to prove God’s existence. It begins with the definition of God as “that than which no greater can be conceived.” It is then argued that to exist is greater than to not exist, and therefore the greatest conceivable being must exist. If God did not exist then God would not be the greatest conceivable being - but that would contradict God’s very definition. A second is the teleological argument. The teleological argument is that since the universe displays such an amazing design, there must have been a Divine designer. For example, if earth were even a few hundred miles closer or further away from the sun, it would not be capable of supporting much of the life it currently does. If the elements in our atmosphere were even a few percentage points different, every living thing on earth would die. The odds of a single protein molecule forming by chance is 1 in 10243 (that is a 10 followed by 243 0’s). A single cell is comprised of millions of protein molecules.

A third logical argument for God’s existence is called the cosmological argument. Every effect must have a cause. This universe and everything in it is an effect. There must be something that caused everything to come into existence. Ultimately, there must be something “un-caused” in order to cause everything else to come into existence. That “un-caused” something is God. A fourth argument is known as the moral argument. Every culture throughout history has had some form of law. Everyone has a sense of right and wrong. Murder, lying, stealing, and immorality are almost universally rejected. Where did this sense of right and wrong come from if not from a holy God?

Despite all of this, the Bible tells us that people will reject the clear and undeniable knowledge of God and instead believe a lie. Romans 1:25 declares, “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator - who is forever praised. Amen.” The Bible also proclaims that people are without excuse for not believing in God, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).

People claim to not believe in God because it is “not scientific” or “because there is no proof.” The true reason is that once people admit that there is a God, they also must realize that they are responsible to God and in need of forgiveness from God (Romans 3:23; 6:23). If God exists, then we are accountable for our actions to Him. If God does not exist, then we can do whatever we want without having to worry about God judging us. I believe that is why evolution is so strongly clung to by many in our society - to give people an alternative to believing in a Creator God. God exists and ultimately everyone knows that He exists. The very fact that some attempt so aggressively to disprove His existence is in fact an argument for His existence.

Allow me one last argument for God’s existence. How do I know God exists? I know God exists because I speak to Him every day. I do not audibly hear Him speaking back to me, but I sense His presence, I feel His leading, I know His love, I desire His grace. Things have occurred in my life that have no other possible explanation other than God. God has so miraculously saved me and changed my life that I cannot help but to acknowledge and praise His existence. None of these arguments in and of themselves can persuade anyone who refuses to acknowledge what is so plainly clear. In the end, God’s existence must be accepted by faith (Hebrews 11:6). Faith in God is not a blind leap into the dark, it is safe step into a well-lit room where 90% of people are already standing.

  23. Rick Miller Says:

YAWN “The Bible says…” Yeah, whatever.

  24. G. Says:

No atheist would ask for proof of the existence of a god—such proof never will exist.

Secondly, your idea that the belief in a god is necessarily linked with a democratic, consensual process and that the widespread nature of this belief entails the inevitable existence of a god is thoroughly illogical and laughable. Your knowledge of god is empty faith and pretended knowledge.

Thirdly, the ideas concerning god, in philosophy (ontological, teleological, and cosmological), are based upon shoddy, outdated philosophy, which misconstrued matters for centuries in order to promulgate the dreadful influence of dogmatic efforts.

Fourthly, your dogmatic ideation that absolutely everyone needs god is utterly spurious, as is your conception of responsibleness to the implicit “father” god.

Fifthly, the Bible does not tell anyone anything. You read the Bible and make it speak to you in whatever way you consciously or unconsciously would desire it so.

Lastly, you speak of “burden of proof” on non-believers, and in the next step you say it is unprovable: faith is required. Such shear childishness and inconsistency.

Perhaps you need a pulpit, but, among atheists, you will only find disdain for lack of intellectual power and self-reliance.

The vestiges of the age of dogma are receding and all the conservatively brained fear to change their ways—they adopt a preference of ignorance, of a closed purview of horizons and will not look upon themselves as the aimless lives of empty devotion they are but to a “truer”, “higher” world above this miserable one, which they hate and scorn so much and yet continue with their “good deeds” only for the reward of everlasting heaven because they think their petty life is an eternal one, whereas in fact it is the cardinal element of transience.

Pantheists look far more respectable in this light.

Those who have taste will be able to judge aright how things stand.

Answer: Matthew 24:5-8 gives us some important clues so we can discern the approach of the end times, “For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” An increase in false messiahs, an increase in warfare, and increases in famines, plagues, and natural disasters – these items are “signs” of the end times. Even in this passage, though, we are given a warning. We are not to be deceived (Matthew 24:4), because these events are only the beginning of birth pains (Matthew 24:8), the end is still to come (Matthew 24:6).

Many interpreters point to every earthquake, every political upheaval, and every attack on Israel as a sure sign that the end times are rapidly approaching. While these events are signs that the end times are approaching, they are not necessarily indicators that the end times have arrived. The Apostle Paul warned that the last days would bring a marked increase in false teaching. “In the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1 Timothy 4:1). The last days are described as “perilous times” because of the increasingly evil character of man and people who actively “resist the truth” (2 Timothy 3:1-9; see also 2 Thessalonians 2:3).

Other possible signs would include a rebuilding of a Jewish temple in Jerusalem, increased hostility towards Israel, and advances toward a one-world government. The most prominent sign of the end times, however, is the nation of Israel. In 1948, Israel was recognized as a sovereign state for the first time since 70 A.D. God promised Abraham that his posterity would have Canaan as “an everlasting possession” (Genesis 17:8), and Ezekiel prophesied a physical and spiritual resuscitation of Israel (Ezekiel 37). Having Israel as a nation in its own land is important in light of end-time prophecy, because of Israel’s prominence in eschatology (Daniel 10:14; 11:41; Revelation 11:8).

With these signs in mind, we can be wise and discerning in regards to the expectation of the end times. We should not, however, interpret any of these singular events as a clear indication of the soon arrival of the end times. God has given us enough information that we can be prepared, but not enough information that we can become arrogant.

You guys are looking too much into this. You can’t argue with this kind of crazy. All you can do is cover your ears and scream GAAAAAAAHHHHH OH GOD YOU’RE KILLING MY BRAAAAAAAAIIIIN! I find it helps ward off the wackos to be as socially inept as possible.

I ran across your blog and loved the name! I just watched a CNN special on “GOD WARRIORS” and just kept seeing our little US Taliban rounding up their troops against the rest of us controlling any votes for office we might cast against them. How do I tell my child, your vote really doesn’t count unless you are right wing evangelical. I couldn’t get through the commentary of the poster for very long. It’s been said and done. I am not labeled an atheist as I am not a believer nor non-believer though I am not a Christian nor any other religious follower. I do think about the possibility that if we were to collectively meditate (or focus) on the same thing we would all be GOD together! My daughter has been raised to walk a life void of religion and care for whatever you think might be that extra powerful inner something, we call spirit. That may be a religious term but it suits us. She however, has been chastised by fellow Christian peers for not being Christian. Aww the love of Christ in the little witches. Religion kills and religions controls. For some it is sanity and for others it is bloodshed in their god’s name. Anyway, I’m running long. Just wanted to stop by and reach out!

Yeah, God tells Abraham that his descendants will have the land of Israel as an everlasting possession. But as history tells us, they didn’t. For the last 3,000 years they possessed it maybe 1/3 of the time. Doesn’t sound everlasting to me. Chalk up one Bible claim that bites the dust.

The book of Isaiah predicts that the Nile River would dry up, but never has it done so in recorded history. There’s a second prophecy that bites the dust.

  31. N Says:

In the FIRST book of the Bible and in the FIRST verse it reads: Genesis 1: 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

There is no argument! Either you believe that verse or you don’t. If you believe that the heavens and earth are so awsome that only an all-powerful God could have created them … then you will want to read on what else the Bible has to say about God. If you do not believe that the heavens and earth are an awsome creation by an all-powerful God of Creation, then, you might as well close the Bible and not read any further. There is no room for argument. I have decided to believe and trust that the Word of God is true. What do I have to lose? Answer: Nothing! If you have chosen not to believe and if God IS living and if He IS the Almighty, Soverign God like His Word says, then what do you have to lose? Answer: Everything!

  33. God is Good Says:

Does God exist?

  34. God is Good Says:

Does Hell Exist - What does the Old Testament say?
Does Hell exist? A proper biblical worldview includes a belief in a real, eternal, and physical hell. What do you believe?

It is very interesting to discover that there are more Bible verses about Hell than there are about Heaven. Here are a few verses in the Old Testament about Hell. Daniel 12:2 proclaims, “Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.” Hell is described here as everlasting. Isaiah 66:24 declares, “And they will go out and look upon the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind.” In this Scripture, hell is described as a place where the fire is not quenched. Deuteronomy 32:22 portrays hell as a place where God pours out His wrath, “For a fire is kindled in My anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell; It shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.” Psalms 55:15 illustrates hell as a realm of the wicked, “Let death seize them; Let them go down alive into hell, for wickedness is in their dwellings and among them.”

Does Hell Exist - What does the New Testament say?
Does Hell Exist? If the clear teaching of the Old Testament is not enough, the New Testament has much to say as well. 2 Thessalonians 1:9 tells us, “These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.” Revelation 14:10-11, speaking of the antichrist, teaches us, “He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” Hell is a lake of burning fire, as described in Revelation 20:14-15, “Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Does Hell Exist - What did Jesus say?
Some who argue that hell does not exist do so on the basis of their belief that Jesus taught love, peace, and forgiveness - and that He did not teach about an eternal place of fiery punishment for non-believers. However, the exact opposite is true. Jesus taught more about hell than anyone else in the Word of God. Jesus described hell as an unquenchable fire (Matthew 3:12), a place of eternal fire, (Matthew 25:41) eternal punishment (Matthew 25:46), and as a place of torment, fire, and agony (Luke 16:23-24). Jesus taught specifically about hell many times in His ministry (Matthew 5:22, 29-30; 10:28; 18:9; 23:15,33; Mark 9:43-47; Luke 12:6; 16:23).

Does Hell Exist - How is an eternity in Hell fair?
If Hell does exist, how can it be fair? Why would a loving God punish a person for eternity, when their sins only took place for 70-80 years? The answer is that all sin is ultimately against God, who is infinite (Psalm 51:4). So, since God is an eternal and infinite Being, all sin is worthy of an infinite punishment.

Yes, God loves us (John 3:16) and wants all people to be saved (2 Peter 3:9). However, God is also just and righteous - He will not allow sin to go unpunished. That is why God sent Jesus to pay the price for our sins. Jesus Christ’s death was an infinite death, paying our infinite sin debt - so that we would not have to pay it in Hell for eternity (2 Corinthians 5:21). All we have to do is put our faith in Him and we are forgiven and promised an eternal home in heaven. God loved us so much to provide for our salvation. If we reject His gift of eternal life through the Lord Jesus Christ, we will face the eternal consequences of that decision - an eternity in a fiery hell.

If you were to die today do you know with 100% certainty that you are going to heaven? Know for sure today!

My God Is Real (Yes, God Is Real)

There are some things I may not know,
There are some places I can’t go.
But I am sure of this one thing:
My God is real for I can feel Him deep within.

    My God is real, real in my soul;
My God is real for He has washed and made me whole!
His love for me is like pure gold,
Yes, God is real, for I can feel Him in my soul.

    Some folks may doubt, some folks may scorn;
All can go on and leave me alone.
But as for me, I’ll take God’s part,
My God is real–for I can feel Him in my heart!

    My God is real, real in my soul;
My God is real for He has washed and made me whole!
His love for me is like pure gold,
Yes, God is real, for I can feel Him in my soul.

I cannot tell just how you felt
When Jesus took all your sins away.
But since that day, yes, since that hour,
God has been real for I can feel His holy power!

    My God is real, real in my soul;
My God is real for He has washed and made me whole!
His love for me is like pure gold,
Yes, God is real, for I can feel Him in my soul.

Faith in God is not a blind leap into the dark, it is safe step into a well-lit room where 90% of people are already standing.

Belief in god allows one to justify all sorts of behaviors… “By the grace of God…” “If God wills it…” “It’s in God’s hands now.”

Believing in god, allows one to stop living their own life, to stop taking responsibility for their own actions. A child is stricken with cancer, and some will, instead of seeking the best possible medical professionals for their child, say “Oh, if she dies, it is God’s will. It is her time to meet her Maker.” Or some similar sort of garbage that somehow makes it okay that their child is dying. Sick children with theist parents is one of the things that most blows my mind. I don’t know how anyone could continue to believe in this so-called wonderful and powerful god when we will strike their child with horrible afflictions at such young ages. You wanna try to convince me that a 1 year-old develops cancer as a test of her faith? Or would you rather say it’s a test of her parents’ faith? God does seem to enjoy testing people in cruel and vicious ways… so I guess that would fit.

When I was a believer - and I was a devout, evangelical Christian for most of my childhood - I thought my life was in “God’s Hands.” I believed whatever I did, whatever road life took me down, God was up there directing it… and it seemed like it felt great. It seemed, as you said, safe. I spoke to him every day, I “felt” his presence. I believed as much as one can… until, slowly, gradually, over many, many years, I realized I simply didn’t believe. I’d never had a single prayer answered… and don’t give me the crap of “sometimes when I pray it doesn’t always work out like I think it should.” God didn’t have a plan for me, and I was wasting my life believing in a fairytale. You use this as an explanation of proof…

“A fourth argument is known as the moral argument. Every culture throughout history has had some form of law. Everyone has a sense of right and wrong. Murder, lying, stealing, and immorality are almost universally rejected. Where did this sense of right and wrong come from if not from a holy God?”

Throughout history, polytheism is far more popular than monotheism… so how can your one all powerful god explain that? Not to mention I find this sort of argument preposterous anyway, given how much more likely to break moral codes theists are over atheists. Just take the divorce rates, for example… (http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_dira.htm). I don’t NEED god to guide me to do what’s right or wrong. I’m not going to decide to NOT murder someone because god wouldn’t like it… I’m going to decide to not murder someone because it’s not something I feel is right to do. I live by my own “moral” code, if you will… how many Christians do you know that lived together before marriage? I know a whole hell of a lot of them. How many had sex before marriage? I might have done those things, but I’m not standing there telling someone else they’ll go to hell for doing them, either.

I’m SO tired of people assuming that to be a “good” person, you have to have god… that’s a crock. I love my husband, I’m faithful and wouldn’t dream of cheating on him. I believe in giving others a chance, in doing nice things for people. I’ll hold the door for someone. I’ll be there for friends or family in times of crisis or need… what I won’t do is try to sell them the party line of “well, it’s God’s will,” or “God has a plan for you, you just need to have faith.” Screw faith. You’re right… faith isn’t a “blind leap…” It’s just blindness. Period. It’s surrendering your life and giving up all responsibility.

Giving up god, that’s taking a risk… that’s saying, you know what, I want more out of life than this ancient doctrine that contradicts itself and is crap. I want to LIVE.

I chose life… and I’ve never once looked back with regret. I suppose, after all, I am Pro-Life.

  37. God is Good Says:

If u belive being good is good to go to heaven than why did Jesus die for us,
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.
You don’t belive become u dont want to belive in him.

The ROMANS ROAD is a pathway you can walk.
It is a group of bible verses from the book of Romans in the New Testament.
If you walk down this road you will end up understanding how to be saved.

    Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
We all have sin in our hearts. We all were born with sin. We were born under the power of sin’s control.
Admit that you are a sinner.

    Romans 6:23a
“…The wages of sin is death…”
Sin has an ending. It results in death. We all face physical death, which is a result of sin.
But a worse death is spiritual death that alienates us from God, and will last for all eternity.
The Bible does plainly teach that there is a place called the Lake of Fire where lost people will be in torment forever.
It is the place where people end up that remain spiritually dead.
Understand that you deserve death for your sin.

    Romans 6:23b
“…But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Salvation is a free gift from God to you! We can’t earn this gift, but we must reach out and receive it.
Ask God to forgive you and save you.

    Romans 5:8
“God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us!”
When Jesus died on the cross He paid sin’s penalty. He paid the cosmic price for all sin, and when He took all the sins of the world on Himself on the cross, He bought us out of slavery to sin and death! The only condition is that we believe in Him and what He has done for us, understanding that we are now joined with Him, and that He is our life.
Because He loved us and gave Himself for us!
Give your life to God… His love poured out in Jesus on the cross is your only hope to have forgiveness and change. His love bought you out of being a slave to sin. His love is what saves you. Not religion, or church membership.
God loves you! And reaches you right where you are.

    Romans 10:13
“Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved!”
Call out to God in the name of Jesus!

    Romans 10:9,10
“…If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”
If you know that God is knocking on your heart door,
ask Him to come into your heart.

    Jesus said,
    Revelation 3:20a
“Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him…”
Is Jesus knocking on your heart’s door?

Believe in Him. Ask Him to come in to your heart by faith, and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Open the bible to the gospel of John and read what God says about Jesus, about you, and about being born again.

God will help you. Just talk to Him. He loves you.

You need to look for a local church where God’s word is preached. The bible says that we are to desire God’s word like a newborn baby desires mother’s milk.
Aren’t you hungry to know the truth?

Water baptism is one of the ways you first show that you have been joined to Jesus. The symbolism is this: When you go down in the water you show that you have been crucified and buried with Him, And when you come up out of the water you show that you have been raised to walk with Him in newness of life. (See Romans chapter 6)

You have been born again. (See John chapter 3) Your body has become God’s temple. Your heart is where He lives. Forgiveness is yours in Jesus. And you belong to Him. You were sin’s slave. But now…You are a child of GOD!

    John 1:12
“As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God,
even to those who believe in His name!”

  38. God is Good Says:

What does it mean to accept Jesus as your personal Savior?”

Answer: Have you ever accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? Before you answer, allow me to explain the question. To properly understand this question, you must first properly understand “Jesus Christ,” “personal” and “Savior.”

Who is Jesus Christ? Many people will acknowledge Jesus Christ as a good man, great teacher, or even a prophet of God. These things are most definitely true of Jesus, but they do not define who He truly is. The Bible tells us that Jesus is God in the flesh, God become a human being (see John 1:1,14). God came to earth to teach us, heal us, correct us, forgive us - and die for us! Jesus Christ is God, the Creator, the sovereign Lord. Have you accepted this Jesus?

What is a Savior and why do we need a Savior? The Bible tells us that we have all sinned, we have all committed evil acts (Romans 3:10-18). As a result of our sin, we are worthy of God’s anger and judgment. The only just punishment for sins committed against an infinite and eternal God is an infinite punishment (Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:11-15). That is why we need a Savior!

Jesus Christ came to earth and died in our place. Jesus’ death, as God in the flesh, was an infinite payment for our sins (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins (Romans 5:8). Jesus paid the price so that we would not have to. Jesus’ resurrection from the dead proved that His death was sufficient to pay the penalty for our sins. That is why Jesus is the one and only Savior (John 14:6; Acts 4:12)! Are you trusting in Jesus as your Savior?

Is Jesus your “personal” Savior? Many people view Christianity as attending church, performing rituals, not committing certain sins. That is not Christianity. True Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Accepting Jesus as your personal Savior means placing your own personal faith and trust in Him. No one is saved by the faith of others. No one is forgiven by doing certain deeds. The only way to be saved is to personally accept Jesus as your Savior, trusting His death as the payment for your sins, and His resurrection as your guarantee of eternal life (John 3:16). Is Jesus personally your Savior?

If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, say the following words to God. Remember, saying this prayer or any other prayer will not save you. It is only trusting in Christ that can save you from sin. This prayer is simply a way to express to God your faith in Him and thank Him for providing for your salvation. “God, I know that I have sinned against you and deserve punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. I receive your offer of forgiveness and place my trust in You for salvation. I accept Jesus as my personal Savior! Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness - the gift of eternal life! Amen!”

You chose your sinful life because u want to live that way. U want to disobey God law. When u disobey man laws in this world u go to jail. When u disobey God law they God to hell. You call yourself a ex beliver wow, I will not want to be in your shoe. Remember God Love You.

If God does not exist, then we can do whatever we want without having to worry about God judging us…
