EA To Go
How many times has this happened to you? You’re walking down the street, on a train, riding in a car or otherwise away from a PC, and it hits you. You NEED to read The Evangelical Atheist’s latest post, and you need it now. OH NO! You don’t have access to a computer! Your palms begin to sweat, and your pulse quickens. You’re on your way to a full-blown panic attack. Frankly, who can blame you? It can be difficult to get through the day without a dose of atheistic wit and genius. It’s only natural.
Suffer no more. Now you can read The Evangelical Atheist (including comments) right on your cell phone. Just point your WAP browser to http://evangelicalatheist.com/wp-wap.php for a phone-friendly version of the site.
Now you can take me anywhere you want. Take me to the office. Take me to class. Take me to the bathroom with you if you must. I don’t need the details. Thanks to technology, you and I can always be together.

Interesting timing, I have been traveling allot lately and have been experimenting with mobile blogging. This comment was written on my Blackberry while waiting for my plane to take off.
Can you add the ability to post comments from the WAP version? Was this feature part of the new upgrade or something else?

It’s not part of Wordpress 2.0. It’s just a plugin I found. I’ll see if there’s something more sophisticated out there.

And how many times have you found yourself saying, “Man, if only the Evangelical Atheist would pay for my mobile Internet access!”

OK, just for LBBP I’ve installed another plugin that allows visitors to leave comments. To view that version, just go directly to evangelicalatheist.com without the stuff after the slash.
Unfortunately, this plugin can’t handle some of Wordpress’s typographic niceties. Any apostrophe or quotation mark sort of blows up. It’s still readable, but it’s not pretty.
I kind of like those little touches, so I’m hesitant to turn that feature off in order to accommodate mobile users. However, if there are a lot of you, I would consider it. So, if you intend to use the mobile version, leave a comment and tell me so.

No shit? Wow am I behind the times with all this stuff. I don’t even own a cellphone. And I don’t think I want to either. Life has enough leashes attached to it. I don’t need one more electronic one.

Is this the first step towards franchising yourself?

I don’t think the use of the word “crusade” was in any way accidental. George “thinks” like the fundamentalist he is.
