Around the Community
I don’t really have a post tonight, but I want to highlight a couple of links.
First, Unscrewing the Inscrutable, like Lazarus himself, has returned from the dead. Those of you who frequent the site, as I do, know that it was down last week due to technical difficulties. It’s back and better than ever. Brent switched to Drupal (something I’ve considered), and it seems to be a real improvement. If you’re a fan, go back. If you’re not, go anyway.
I also wanted to point out an new blog with a lot of promise. Atheist Exposed is written by Houston’s Shirley Setterbo. She “went public” with her atheism at the beginning of the month, and the blog will follow her journey and the reactions of the people in her life. Support her bravery by at least giving it a read.
There’s another new blog that I’ve been following for a couple of weeks. Kele’s Atheistic and Evolutionary Journey is written by a 16 year old in Minnesota. He’s sharp for a teenager, and he’s not a bad writer. The purpose of his blog is noble and uncommon. He’s blogging for personal growth. “I know I can be an ignorant and arrogant little ass sometimes, so I welcome anyone to disagree with me. This is a journey of sorts, and I’d like to be pointed out my mistakes in thinking so I can learn from them. Thanks!”
That’s it for now. I’ll be back with a real post tomorrow night.

Kele is very thoughtful for being sixteen. He and pyro shark are shining examples of young atheists. It makes me feel like there is still hope for educating society.

Heh. I’ve been reading Kele’s blog too. Very interesting. And Atheist Exposed has drawn me in as well.

Seth, you should be happy because I think many of us had no idea you were that young. At least I thought you were much older.

hey,
I had a question that maybe you could help me with, i’ve been asking around the atheist community. Do you know of any secular “mission” type trips that are organized in America to help out other countries? When i was a christian, i really enjoyed mission trips. I’d like to do the same things for needy people, but not under a religious organization. I think this would be helpful to show that good things still happen without god. Ideas? Email me please at cheer4christ513@yahoo.com (yes the email was created when i was a christian)

Yeah, boywonder, I was being sarcastic. I get that reaction a lot…thank Bob you can’t see me person, ’cause everyone who does thinks I’m Harry Potter.
Abby, methinks you just just volunteer with the Red Cross or Peace Corps. And I am greatly amused by your email address.
