Housekeeping
I want to take a moment to address a few issues about the site itself, and to request some feedback.
Issue 1: I’ve been chosen by Brent over at Unscrewing the Inscrutable to host Carnival of the Godless XIX on July 31, 2005.

The most recent COTG can be seen over at deanpence.
Issue 2: I’ve recently added Google Adsense ads to the sidebar on the main page. I wrestled with this decision, because I don’t want it to appear as though I’m running this blog for commercial gain. If anyone has a real problem with the presence of those ads, let me know and I may reconsider. It’s actually pretty funny what a terrible job they’re doing of picking ads for this site. I’ve made 15 cents so far.
Issue 3: Registration is not required (and never will be) to post comments on this site. I do, however, require name and email address. This is mostly because I don’t want posts with no names attached, since they’re hard to refer to. If this requirement is stopping anyone from commenting, just lie about your email address. It doesn’t matter.
Issue 4: If there’s something that bugs you about the site or you have a suggestion on how to improve it, I want your input. If it’s something you don’t want to put up for the world to see, you can always email me at iam@evangelicalatheist.com.
Issue 5: LINK TO ME! Please. If you have a blog that deals with atheism, and you want me to link to you, just ask. If you want to be on the Frequent Contributors link list, contribute frequently.
Issue 6: If you read a good article or find a good website that relates to the topics being discussed here, let me know about it. I spend at least a little while every day scouring the media for stories that apply. You can save me a little scouring. It’s hard on the knuckles, you know.
That’s it. Sorry for this little interlude. I hope you’re all enjoying the site so far. Keep reading.
… and now back to our regularly scheduled program.

I have no real complaints. Your site seems rather organized. The only thing I might add would be a list of your basic assumptions/definitions for god, etc.

Oh, and with a name like “evangelical atheist”, it might be a good idea to have an ongoing forum or something that would allow everyone to understand and expand the concept of evangelism. For instance, I am assuming by ‘evangelical atheist’ you mean to spread the concept of atheism far and wide. Is this correct? Can it be expanded on?

Angie: I was telling other people how to get on the list if they want to. I’m not criticizing you or the other Frequent Contributors. I appreciate your comments.
boywonder: Both excellent suggestions. I’ll incorporate them somehow. Thanks.

I love the site, but I have a suggestion to help you keep up on atheist-relevant stuff since I know it is a chore. If you haven’t already done so, get yourself an RSS aggregator and set it up with all the good atheist blogs and new portals. That way, you will have all the news you can handle automatically downloaded to your reader whenever you want. I even have mine set up to scour American newspapers to search for keywords like “atheist” and “atheism.” If you are new to the whole RSS thing (which I doubt given how impressive your blog is), this might help: http://atheistrevolution.blogspot.com/2005/04/keeping-up-with-your-favorite-blogs.html

Good luck at the Carnival.

Re: issue #2.
I like the ads. You are wrong, though, google is doing a fantasic job! For instance there are ads for LDS singles and “True Religion jeans”. Now, see I always wanted some true religion jeans. Now I can own some. thanks google! And they will help me bag some of those sweet, sweet LDS singles I’ve been eyeing!

Haha GeneralZod, but how can you pass up all the great opportunities for online bible study? But the ads don’t bother me, I’ll probably even click them time to time to help the site out.
Boywonder’s idea about a forum is a great one imo. Part of The Raving Atheist’s success probably stems from the fact that he has a forum with a bunch of frequent contributors there. That way, even if you haven’t had time to make a post, visitors to your site can read new information.
And congratulations about the Carnival of the Godless, I look forward to that. I also think it would have been entertaining if you had been criticizing Angie

I BlogRolled your excellent site!

Question: how does one get a post on the Carnival of the Godless, and what is the submission date?
Like Nanovirus, I also blogrolled your site. It rocks pretty hard.

Hi! I surfed here from Unscrewing the Inscrutable. Great blog! I know what you mean about Google Ads - they’re hardly worth bothering with. One thing though, if the same inappropriate ads keep showing up, you can filter out the URL’s. That helped to get rid of the “liberal media campaign against President Bush” ad that Google kept putting on my site.
